Fun Shapes To Color For School
Color with Fuzzy!
Easy shape coloring pages make Math class more fun! Learning about shapes is as much art as it is vocabulary or Math. Little kids love that some of these are big kid pages to color.
In art class we often need shapes for patterns like flowers, diamonds, and hearts. I love hearts! Do you?
Parents and teachers love the shape outline printables for toddlers and preschool activities. I like to print some of these shapes on card stock in my desk for whenever I'm drawing. I can trace a shape any time I want.
Also, I have made these so that you can customize with notes, details, or messages.

1. Circular Shapes To Cut And Color
Circles have one side. Well, that "side" goes all the way around a center point equally. Choose a simple circle for preschool and kindergarten, or choose a Math area circle for older children.
Spheres are 3D circles. Think of balls and balloons when teaching about spheres. Combine it with geography with a globe. I also have cone shapes to color.

1B. Cones, Cylinders, and Spheres To Color
Preschoolers have fun with shapes for coloring and cutting. One picture shows that a cone is really a half circle. Color the shapes and cut them out to put on a party hat cone.
2. Triangular Shape Coloring Pages
Polygons that have three sides are called triangles. A triangle can have many shapes: right triangles, isosceles, equilateral and more.
Each triangle is named according to its angles or sides. For example an equilateral triangle has equal sides.
Equi- means equal and lateral means side.
A pyramid is a 3D triangle with a square or triangle bottom.

2B. Pyramids
3. Square And Rectangular Shapes
Squares and rectangles are polygon shapes that have four sides that join at right angles.
Make a square or rectangle three dimensional and you have drawn a cube. Cubes are great for teaching volume.

4. More Polygons
Poly means many, so polygon means many sides. Would you like to color a pentagon, hexagon, or an octagon?
Pentagons have five sides, hexagons have six sides, and octagons have eight sides.
The prefix tells the number of sides.
5. Fun Shapes To Color
Flower, heart, star, and diamond shapes make fun cut out projects. Use these on card stock as patterns or as stencil shapes if you use your scissors to remove the insides.
I like to have my kids color the shape coloring pages before they cut them for better colors around the edges.
I have many more flower, heart, geometric, and star shaped coloring pages here.
Fuzzy Loves Coloring Shapes!
Math class is more fun when you are learning about shapes.
If you can show your kids about the many times we see circles (traffic lights, flowers, moons) and squares or rectangles (buildings, boxes, trucks) they'll be able to draw their own pictures.
Measuring them is the mathematical side, drawing or coloring is the artsy side.
In art class we often need shapes for patterns. Patterns make it easy for preschoolers and kindergartners to cut out yellow circles for the center of flowers, or neat squares to place along the frame of a picture.
Keep some shape coloring pages on hand to help kids trace different forms for drawings. I love shape printables for kindergarten and first grade. The older they are the better the kids handle the crayons and scissors.
Adults love to show kids the optical illusions in some shapes. Is the globe rolling? Is the cube indented? Sometimes adults themselves find that coloring is wonderful therapy for anti-stress moments. Enjoy!
